The term Aganis (Anguane in Italian) derives from the Latin "Aquileiese" aquana. The myth of the Agganis originates from the Roman nymphs, but it is also possible to find elements of the archaic Germanic culture in it.
Agganis is "spirits" of waterways (sources, rivers, streams, streams). In particular, it was possible to see them on full moon nights, when they gathered together dancing wrapped in white dresses; clothes which they then left to dry in the moonlight.
According to popular belief, they would be the protectors of fishermen and on many occasions, they would have helped the man. It is said that they taught women how to work wool and men how to transform milk into cheese. They were also credited with making children dream.
