Ascoltami (listen to me) – Armando Di Nunzio is an Italian sculptor who lives in San Giovanni Teatino, a town in the province of Chieti, in Abruzzo. His dialogue with art has been open for at least thirty years, when his training course began at the State Art Institute of Pescara, in the Advertising Graphic and Photography section, obtaining the master’s degree of art(read more about this artist).

This artwork designs visually smooth and wavy, in traits sinuous and almost welcoming, but observe it in detail. Its essence is angular and sharp. The white and compact material is the precious white stone of Majella, quarried in the mountains of Abruzzo. It’s ductile and hard rock at the same time allows exceptional virtuosity.
In Armando’s imagination, he has paid a lot of attention to these dualisms, and hence the title, “Ascoltami”(listen to me!). It’s a dialogue between artist and stone, a conversation among form and substance, and long last an interaction between past and future.
There is also a dualism in this vision. A kind of polarity wich looking for a relationship between it what was and what will be. The original material that for years has been in the belly of a mountain in a circular vortex. Where everything is related to the moment we live, the present.
This sculpture is a part of a series of works called Fossils from the Future. Sculpture requires willpower but most of all physical, it requires that body-mind presence that it imposes on you to be in the here-and-now while shot after shot, you feel and see the form, the third emerges from the raw material dimension.
