Malanima was born from to represent the discomfort and the despair that characterizes contemporary society, human fragility, and the strength of life in constant struggle.
In the painting, both the figurative and the color parts realize the same value. In the front, there is a group of orchids, the flowers that remind us of the particular form of the shape of the sexual female and male organs. These come out as in an explosion from an underlying part, which has the appearance of a vulva. Therefore life, birth, and the impetuous force of life make space charged with energy.
We can find the suffering and the malaise in the power of saturated colors. The painting has dominated by reds that represent bloody pain. With blues, we lose all of the objective contacts with reality. The purples are hematomas of the soul while the black is digging into the heart of the discomfort.
The outlines are fading. There is an interpenetration of confusion, a sense of anxiety. It’s an original conflict between shape and color, where one seems to want to override the other.
